My Grandmother’s Choice

There is a new project in town!  It is called Grandmother’s Choice and it is Barbara Brackman’s new block of the week blog celebrating the women’s suffrage movement and women’s right to vote.

Our first block is called, appropriately enough, Grandmother’s Choice:

Like Barbara Brackman’s Civil War Block of the Week, Grandmother’s Choice will have a new block posted every Saturday morning (aka – the Saturday Morning Post :-)).  I have a button on my blog sidebar if you need a quick link to Barbara’s blog.  There is also a wonderful Grandmother’s Choice Flickr Group.  Be sure to check them out!

The fabric I have chosen for this project was just simply a lucky find at the right price.  A friend and member of our Just Say So Bee was cleaning out some stash and had this huge stack of coordinating fat quarters and half yard cuts from Jill Kemp’s 2001 Month by Month series.

I love the idea of this new project highlighting the wonderful women who went to bat so that generations later we have the right to vote!  Many thanks to the grandmothers including Mary Band – my mother’s mother:

Have a great day, y’all!

  1. Yes, Cookie, you NEED another project! 😉 Love it! That alphabet fabric is so cute, and your grandma’s picture is pretty special.
