It Was a Grandmother’s Weekend

My two grandsons had birthdays this weekend!  Oscar turned 2 and Mikey turned 4.  So Birthday Parties were on the agenda.

Oscar’s party was early Saturday morning and it was a pirate pajama party. Isn’t he cute?

I think Oscar likes his birthday donuts!

Mikey’s 4th birthday party was Sunday.  Thanks to the Moms for coordinating so we could attend both parties!  Mikey’s mom made the most amazing Scooby Doo Haunted Halloween Birthday Cake:

It was a big hit as you can see by the aftermath.  Those boys look like they are about to pop!

Even with all the parties, the Grandmother’s Choice Block of the Week was easy to fit in.  No applique and no hand piecing this week.  The block is called Brick Pavement: March on Washington.

The fabric I am using is Good Fortune by Kate Spain, Moda.  Such bright fun fabric!  Be sure to check out the Grandmother’s Choice Flikr web site – many different and gorgeous interpretations of the same block!

Our thoughts and prayers are with those on the East Coast right now dealing with Hurricane Sandy.  Stay safe, y’all!
