The block this week for Barbara Brackman’s Grandmother’s Choice BOW is in honor of Emily Wiilding Davidson, a British suffragette who threw herself in front of the King’s horse at a 1913 horse race. She lost her life and her headstone is engraved “Deeds not Words”. In her memory the block is called Memory Wreath:
I’ve had a rare free day with lots of time for sewing, reading and cooking.
- Sewing – I worked on the block above, practiced my free motion quilting and started quilting (not free motion) a table runner and wall hanging for the kitchen.
- Reading – I’m reading Jamaica Inn by Daphne du Maurier – a 1936 mystery novel. I’m taking an extended education class called ‘I love a mystery’ – this is the first book in the class and very good so far!
- Cooking – plan on making a Corn, Bacon & Potato Chowder that I found on the Weight Watcher web site. Looks yummy!
- Oh – and a little time for blogging too!
I hope you have time for the things you love this weekend!
