The Trinity Valley Quilters’ Guild 2013 show was just a couple of weeks ago and I still have like sixty billion pictures to share! Here we go…
Let’s start with the Large Applique/Machine Quilted Category:
Midnight Garden – 1st place (Maker: Peggy Sympson and Quilter: Dawn Smith)
Fireworks — 1st place (Maker and Quilter: Mark Schilling)
A few Large Hand Quilted:
Geometry-Geometry – 1st place (Maker and Quilter: Lola Mae Fant)
Stars for a New Day – 2nd place (Maker: Carol Upchurch and Quilter: Susan Corbett)
Long and Winding Road – Honorable Mention (Maker: Carolyn Bowden and Quilter: Susan Corbett)
And one more from the Mixed Techniques category:
Prairie Flowers – 3rd place (Maker: Peggy Sympson and Quilter: Shelly Hilton-Pace)
Someone asked me the other day what type of quilts I like. What a question! I like them all! I love how we can see and appreciate all types of techniques in one awesome quilt show. Scrappy, traditional, pieced, appliqued, modern art quilts; using fabrics ranging from civil war reproductions to Kaffe’s brights to gorgeous wools. Aren’t we lucky?!?
Have a great weekend, y’all! And go TCU Horned Frogs!!!
