Mikey’s Superman Cape – Part 2

A couple of weeks ago I blogged about making a Superman cape for my Grandson Mikey.  I promised pictures so here they are.

I was excited to see Mikey for a whole week on our cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas.  Since Mikey and his parents live several hours away, I don’t get to spend that much extended time with him.  He is two and a half so I wonder sometimes if he’ll remember his Grandma Cookie.  Well, happily he does!  And he remembers his Grandpa too – here they are together overlooking the ship promenade:

Mikey wore his cape everywhere he could on the ship.  This was a BIG ship with all kinds of activities for little ones (and grown ups too :-)).  After a few days, even when Mikey didn’t have his cape on, many of the crew and passengers would recognize him and called him Superman.  Very cute!

Here he is playing putt putt.

The ship even had Dreamworks characters such as Shrek and Fiona and others.  Here is Mikey standing in awe of Fiona:

Cruising with a toddler has it’s challenges that’s for sure, but I think everyone had a wonderful time – especially Superman!

  1. That is amazing! I love it so much, what a great way to connect with your little one! I have a nephew that is 20 hours away, so just after is first birthday, I have yet to meet him, but, I think I will definitely be making him a cape next year! Thanks for the inspiration!
