Scenes from the JSS Quilt Retreat

Our bee Spring 2014 quilt retreat is in full bloom here at Compass Centre in Mt Calm, Texas.  Now, this is the best place ever for a retreat!  We are surrounded by beautiful countryside and frolicking horses!

horseshorses-in-the-sunshineI couldn’t resist sharing the horses!

Along with the serenity of Mt. Calm, we have lots of food, fun, friends, fabric, and fabulous quilts on the design walls.  Now, if you want to see the quilts – go to Barb’s blog Just Sayin’ Sew.  she has two wonderful posts (so far) all about the quilts.  Rather than repeat her posts with almost the same pictures, I thought I’d share some of the scenes around the retreat.  Such as…

Featherweights

Patti really put here heart into her stitching….

Patti's-featherweightDee’s featherweight – the blue fabric and thread just makes this machine look too cute!

Dee's featherweightJudy’s featherweight with all the necessities – berries and a seam ripper.

JudyI love the antiquity of these machines – think of all the wonderful creativity and memories associated with each one.  I think they are beautiful – how weird is that?

Food!

In line for brunch.  I think Barb may be telling Judy that she’s holding up the line!

We have had a lot of apron making at the quilt retreat.  A really cool way to use your husband’s old shirts (watch out, honey)!  Here Patti is modeling a few of her creations:

MadelynNot garb, but maybe future garb – Cindy has become known as a bolt hoarder…

I’ll wear my jammies to breakfast if you do…

Lynda-and-SuzTime to power down the computer and power up the sewing machine.  We have less than 24 hours of retreat and 60 million projects to complete!
