Spectacular September Bee Day

Sometimes you have so many things to blog about you get overwhelmed and bog about nothing!  Well, that’s been my story….  So rather than worry about the August Bee Day and the TVQG Quilt Show plus all the blocks and quilts I’ve been working on, I’m just going to show you the most recent event – September Bee Day – and move on from there!

Lynda was our most gracious hostess for the September Bee Day.

LyndaLynda’s home is simply gorgeous with lots of beautiful quilts and fun, quirky, quaint decor.  Thank you thank you!

We had quite a wonderful group of JSS’ers at Bee Day! Including the Moms:

The-MomsLemma, Annelle and Sally:

Lemma,-Annelle-&-SallySally and LaNelle (I overheard Annelle and LaNelle discussing the spelling of their names – cute!):

Sally-and-LanelleSue and Karen (they came with their Moms – he he):

Sue-and-KarenPeggy and Judy (newby Judy joined us despite jet lag from Paris – aawww.)

Peggy-and-JudyNancy and Patty with Barb being goofy in the background:

Dede,-Sandra-and-JanAnd dear sweet Suz:

SuzSomehow, I managed to get lots of people pictures this time!  But I did get some quilts too!

Lucky Sue won the TVQG Donation Quilt and Annelle gave it to her at bee!  What a lucky girl!

Lucky-Sue-won-the-donation-Patty brought out her Chinese Lantern quilt made from JSS exchange blocks:

Patty-with-Chinese-LanternsPatt brought a wonderful book filled with lots of wonderful block patterns:

Patt's-pillowHere is the book.  I’ve already added it to my Amazon wish list…

Patt's-bookDede was working on some knitting and told us about her plans for a wonderful Rhine river cruise with Pam!  Bon Voyage, y’all!

DedeSue is donating a quilt to be auctioned off at her church.  She showed two possibilities, this one and another Texas quilt that somehow I didn’t photograph.  The consensus was that she donate the Texas quilt, since this log cabin contains blocks given to her by JSSers (and they contain her favorite BBFs – that is barfy blue flowers 😉 ).

Sue's-log-cabinNow, I’m a little confused about this, but I think Karen brought this springy container from Pam for Barb, straight from a visit in Alaska.  It is supposed to hold snips of threads in her sewing room.  If I’m mistaken on the facts, y’all can clear it up in the comments, OK?

Barb's-thread-catcher-from-Karen’s really big show and tell was this picture of her first grandchild!  Congratulations, Karen!!!

Karen's-show-and-tell---newPeggy brought her pink and brown baby quilt, which was quilted by Dede.

My-elephantsAnd Lynda brought out this fabulous antique quilt she recently purchased:

Lynda's-Antique-QuiltSo after a simply amazing show and tell, we chowed down on some wonderful enchiladas (Thanks Bob!), a wide assortment of black bean and corn salads, other salads, guacamole and bunches of yummy desserts.  Believe me, no one went home hungry!

Now we’re all getting ready for our October retreat!  I’ve already started making piles of projects! 😉
