My First Blue Ribbons!

I am beyond excited!  Last week at the Trinity Valley Quilters’ Guild Quilt Show I was awarded my first two blue ribbons ever!  The show was fabulous with hundreds beautiful quilts.

Ele-funky was a quilt of pure joy to make!  Every elephant was different and I added special embellishments to each one. I had more fun making this quilt!

In addition to the first place blue ribbon, this quilt was also awarded an NACQJ Award of Merit.  That’s the extra blue and yellow ribbon you see.  Wow!  I was blown away! Such an honor.

ele-funky The pattern is “Elephant Walk” by Peggy & Laura at Fiberworks, Inc. The quilting was done by Susan Corbett and she added so many extraordinary touches, such as the quilted elephants behind the baby elephants.  I hope you can see them in these close-ups

Now, what fun, happy quilt should I work on?  Probably one of the dozen or so I’ve already started!
