Ocean Waves Quilt Finished!!!

Don’t you just love taking the last stitch in a large long-term project?  I almost put off the end so I can savor the moment even more!  Well, my Ocean Waves quilt is finished!  The binding, the hanging sleeve and even the label are complete.  The last stitch has been taken!

It is ready for the Trinity Valley Quilter’s Guild Show at the end of the month!

The quilt pattern is called Celebrer! by Lissa Alexander and it was published in the November/December 2009 McCall’s Quilting magazine.  I didn’t realize it was that long ago until I just now looked at the magazine date!  Holy cow, this has been a long-term project.

The fabric is awesome; a real pleasure to work with – Rouenneries by French General for Moda.  And the quilting was done by Susan Corbett.  She did an amazing job!

The back is gorgeous!  It looks like a whole cloth quilt:

I am just thrilled with how pretty it has turned out!

Now I have lots of small (or rather small-ish) projects in the works but am casting my eye about for the next large quilt project to savor up to the very last stitch!

Have a great weekend, y’all!

  1. Your quilt is stunning. I love all fabric by French General. Their reds are my favorite! This will look fabulous in the quilt show. Get ready for lots of compliments. (ostiebug@yahoo.com)

  2. This is wonderful, I have been sitting on a little pile of French General’s Rouenniere waiting for inspiration. I think i just found it. Your quilting is fabulous, i especially like the wide feathered border.

  3. I am in love with your quilt!! I am doing an Internet search for the pattern, but would love to know the fabric requirements so I can begin shopping too! Did you have a French General FQ stack or did you purchase yardage for it?
