Farmer’s Wife Quilt Along – Three Blocks

This week I made 3 of the Farmer’s Wife Sample Quilt blocks.  I have been trying to catch up to the Flickr group which is on week 14 (at 2 blocks a week that would be 28 blocks).  This is my week 5 and I now have 21 blocks.  I’ll get there eventually.

Here in the United States we are celebrating Labor Day.  And here in Texas we are celebrating a cold front!  Yippee!  This is the first day since April that I’ve been able to open the windows and turn off the air conditioning!  The awful Texas heat wave has finally been broken.  Now, we do still need some rain, bu it is so nice and cool and clear, all I want to do is be outside!

So rather than try for my usual 5 blocks – I’m going with these blocks 19, 20 and 21:

Here are some close-ups:

FW 19 - Checkerboard

FW 20 - Churn Dash

FW 21 - Contrary Wife

The next block is Corn & Beans and looks pretty intimidating!

We are grilling Fajitas for family and neighbors this evening – so I’d better get chopping.  Happy Labor Day!
