Catty Wonk Dr. Seuss Play Quilt

For the last few days I have put aside all the various BOW’s, Quilt Along projects and mystery quilts to finish quilting a Dr. Seuss Play Quilt I am making for my sweet grandson Oscar for Christmas.

Catty Wonk Dr. Seuss Quilt

The quilting is done and the binding has been sewn on the front – all that remains is to finish the binding by hand and the label.  Here are some closeups of a couple of the catty wonk blocks:

The back of the quilt is totally different.  The road fabric panel wasn’t quite wide enough so I bordered it in the red and white dot:

I think sweet Oscar (who turned one in October) will have fun with the quilt.  And I hope that Oscar will share because the absolutely wonderful news we received this week – Oscar will be a BIG brother in July!!!

  1. Is there any way you could tell me where you got the road panel? Or at least what the panel is called. I have a great grandson who wants me to make him a quilt with a road on it for his hot wheels and when I saw yours I just know that would be perfect for him.
And Oscar is a sweety! What a cute sono picture.

  2. HI found your blog great quilt just a question what batting did you use for the baby quilt new to quilting and having a problem in what batting to use for my first baby quilt response appreciated
