Oh so sad, today is the last Saturday of Barbara Brackman’s Civil War Block of the Week. The end of the Civil War BOW! I will miss checking the blog every week for the latest block and interesting bits of Civil War history. And I will miss my fellow Civil War groupies on the Flickr site. It has been a wonderful year and I hope we all stay in touch.
The block this week is called Union Shield.
It called for a stripe fabric – I have no stripe that would work with the fabrics I’ve been using so I pieced a stripe from 1½ inch strips. With the last block completed, it is time to start thinking about settings, sashings, cornerstones and borders – fun stuff!
