Arizona – Sedona, the Rest of the Story

In my last post How Much Arizona Fun Can You Pack into 2 Days? I left some of our adventures in Sedona for another day.  Today is “Sedona, Part 2”.

While we were at Tlaquepaque we stopped at a bead shop.  I love beads!  While there I mentioned quilting to the shop owner and she told be about the local Sedona quilt shop.  She even gave us directions!  So after our awesome adventure with the Pink Jeep Tours we headed to the Quilter’s Store Sedona.

What a neat shop and look at some of the goodies I picked up!

Isn’t that iris fabric panel gorgeous?  I told the lady working in the quilt shop that I was visiting and asked about local artists, patterns, fabrics, etc.  She pointed me to this luscious fabric collection by Mary Fisher called Earth Dancing:

I bought the panel plus a few fat quarters and a yard of matching fabric.  It is so pretty and even luscious to the touch. I also purchased a cactus applique wall hanging kit with some pretty batik fabric.  What lucky finds!  If you are ever in Sedona, be sure to stop by the Quilter’s Store Sedona!

We had one more stop to try to squeeze in – The Chapel of the Holy Cross.  This is an amazingly beautiful church built into the red rocks.

We arrived pretty close to the 5:00pm closing time but we were so glad we made the stop!

The Chapel is small but with stunning views and you feel yourself in awe of what God has created.  Very spiritual!

It was a wonderful way to end the day in Sedona.

I will post more Arizona another day with some cactus and critters from the Desert Botanical Gardens.

Have a great week!

  1. Cookie,
I was in Sedona last year and went to many of the same places you did. At the Chapel there is a Vortex. I don’t know if you read or experienced any of these. But I immediately felt the one at the Chapel which was the first of several we encountered. I loved the entire trip and would like to go back soon. I am so glad you were able to experience this very unique place.
