JSS Day at the Lake

Last week we had our JSS Bee Day at Karen and Jim’s lake house.  While we thought it might rain, it turned out to be a beautiful day for taking a boat ride on Lake Kiowa and hanging out on the porch!

First up, of course, was breakfast!

Then Jim and Mark (Barb’s hubby) took some of us for a boat ride. Here we are on the dock:

Bye-JudyJim gave us the grand tour of the lake.  All kinds of houses, docks, boats, buoys, birds and beaches. How about these thrones up on the dock!

throwns-on-the-lakeWhen we got back from the boat ride, everyone was already eating lunch.  But they saved us some. 😉

Then came show and tell!  Karen started us off with this quilt that she had been working on at retreat.

Show-and-Tell---KarenKaren also told us about their shopping trip the day before in Whitesboro – near the quilt shop was an antique store with super cute clothes and accessories.  Not sure what Karen was doing pointing at her foot… I don’t think she got the shoes at the antique store.

show-and-tell---Karen---cutDuring the shopping trip Lynn got this cute top…

show-and-tell---lynn---new-and this vintage platter:

show-and-tell---Lynn--vintaShe looks really happy with her purchases!  Lynn also showed us some bags that she has made out of feed sacks.  How cute are these!show-and-tell---lynn---feedGloria made a purchase in Whitesboro too – this mail bag… I hope the US Post Office is OK with this!

show-and-tell---gloria---neNancy brought this super cute baby quilt – very soft and pretty.

show-and-tell---nancy---babAnnelle was up next with The Dress.  She quilted this herself – I’m so impressed with the areas of free motion quilting!

show-and-tell---annelle---tAnd we got to see the Faith, Hope, Love quilt which was quilted by Susan Corbett:

Judy R. brought this very pretty blue and white quilt:

show-and-tell---Judy-R---blWell, Davene fell in love with it!  I think there was a bit of a tug of war between Judy and Davene in the end.

show-and-tell---Judy-R---DaI brought my hand dyed quilt which has been quilted (by Susan Corbett) and I’m working on the binding.  I need a better name for this quilt… any ideas?

show-and-tell---me---hand-dSally was enthralled with the chicken’s at Patt’s last month so she made herself one:
