A Little Bit of This and a Little Bit of That

I’ve been stitching on a little bit of this and a little bit of that this week.  A few applique blocks, a few Just Takes 2 blocks and a few stars for Stars in a Time Warp.

I’ve actually been working on this applique project for about 6 months.  It is called Spring Blooms.  This is what the finished quilt will look like (with different fabric).

Spring-Blooms-Pattern-CoverHere are blocks 11 and 12:

Block-11 Block-12 I have one more of the large basket blocks to go and then the little sashing baskets and outside leave.  I will get out the rest of the blocks soon and take pictures.

I’ve also gotten back into the Just Takes 2 project, completing blocks 60, 61, 62 and 63.  Here is block 60.  It is called Goose in the Pond:

JT2-block-60---Goose-in-a-PBlocks 61, 62 and 63 are seemingly easy applique blocks that are then put together.  But the quest for a perfectly round circle is a challenge!

JT2-Blocks-61,-62,-63Also over the last few weeks I’ve added to my collection of stars for Barbara Brackman’s Stars in a Time Warp.  Each Wednesday, she posts a blog which explores a fabric color or theme and we all play along by making a 6 inch star block from our stash based on her blog.

Week 20 – the fabric theme is Eccentric Prints – described as “fine geometric figures with jagged or wavy distortions.”  This was my version:

20---EccentricsWeek 21 – Neat Stripes.  I thought these stripes were pretty neat.

21-Neat-StripesWeek 22 – White Ground Chintz.  This may be a new favorite.

22-White-Ground-ChintzesWeek 23 – Blotch Ground Chintz.  The White Ground Chintz has a white background but the Blotch Ground Chintz has a darker background.  The white lines around the floral print give it the distinguishing ”blotch” characteristic.  The star fabric here is the closest I could find in my stash.  (For JSS’ers reading this… this came from Sue O’K’s stash… 🙂 )

23-Blotch-Ground-ChintzesSo, that’s what new at Cookie’s Creek!  Just a little bit of this and a little bit of that!

Take care, y’all!
