UFO Challenge

Do you have a New Year’s resolution?  I do!  I want to finish up on all those fun quilt project I have started so I can start on some more!  Well, I found the perfect inspiration on the APQ website – the UFO Challenge 2017.

I have filled in my 12 UFOs (unfinished objects) that I want to finish in 2017 (note that I used a pencil so I can edit freely 🙂 ).

I even joined the Facebook group for further inspiration…

Some of these projects are on the verge of completion, such as my Spring Baskets quilt.  All it needs is some pink piping and green binding!

My purple and white Just Takes 2 quilt is also pretty close.  I’ll be taking this on retreat in January to try to knock it off the list.  Here is one portion of the quilt:

Here are some of my purple bunnies – the pattern calls for 121 applique bunnies.  I’ve only got about 100 to go!

The Fiesta de Talavera quilt is a block of the month – so I don’t have all the blocks yet.  Here is block 2 (still needs some machine applique work):

Another project is a Jacobean Applique quilt inspired by this fabric and book:

One block done, but I need to made some decisions about where to go with this quilt – how big do I really want to make it?

My oldest project is a counted cross stitch dragon and castle.  The dragon block is done; the castle is nearly finished.  I can see these two as centerpiece blocks in a batik paper pieced wall hanging. I think I started this in 1999!

As I went through my project boxes, bags and bins I found a bunch of future projects that I haven’t even started on yet!  I have the patterns, have even set aside the fabrics, but have never started them.  Maybe I should make a list of those too!  For each UFO I finish, I can start a new project – LOL – I don’t think I’ll ever be able to follow that rule!

Happy New Year y’all!
